Traffic Advisory: Kalākaua Avenue and Lewers Street

HONOLULU -- The Department of Facility Maintenance will partially close the Kalākaua Avenue and Lewers Street intersection to perform necessary pavement resurfacing and crosswalk restriping work beginning on Monday, April 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Weather and conditions permitting, work is anticipated to be completed by Thursday, April 30.

Only one lane will be open on Kalākaua Avenue through the intersection during construction work hours.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible and use alternate routes. Please allow for extra travel time and abide by posted traffic signs. Pedestrians are advised to avoid this intersection during construction hours for safety reasons. Special duty Honolulu Police Department officers will be posted at the work site to assist with traffic control.
