  96th Annual Lei Day Celebration
  Mayor Rick Blangiardi , the Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR), and the Lei Court welcome everyone to take part in the Annual Lei Day Celebration, a time-honored event perpetuating Hawaiian culture and one of the most recognized symbols of aloha…the lei! This free celebration will be held on May 1 at Kapi‘olani Park near the Bandstand. Nearing one-hundred years of celebration, this tradition showcases the skill and artistry of Hawai‘i’s lei makers, while featuring fantastic local entertainment and performances from hula hālau

  This year promises to be even bigger and better with all-you-can eat and drink cuisine from 20 of Hawaii's hottest restaurants. This year's event theme is May the 4th be with you. Children of all ages can enjoy free games, video gaming, face painting and more. With Mother's Day coming up you can get something special from our Silent Auction featuring special travel and vacation packages, gift baskets, gift certificates, jewelry, clothes and specialty items.

  Weekly Waikiki Fireworks Show at the Hilton Hawaiian Village
  Waikiki knows how to start the weekend with a bang! Every Friday night since 1988, the Hilton Hawaiian Village puts on a free fireworks show at the beach. Visitors and residents are treated to a free a 10-minute fireworks show that starts around 7:45pm and is visible even in the Ala Moana and Ward neighborhoods.

  Founded in 1904, the Waikiki Aquarium is the second oldest public aquarium in the United States. A part of the University of Hawai`i at Manoa since 1919, it is located next to a living reef on the Waikiki shoreline.

Located beachside on Kalakaua, near the Duke Statue. Free, outdoors, seating on the grass. Presented by the Oahu Visitors Bureau, Hawaii Tourism Authority, City & County of Honolulu and Waikiki Improvement Association.
