32nd ANNUAL HONOLULU CITY LIGHTS

The 32nd annual Honolulu City Lights celebration continues on the Frank F. Fasi Civic Center Grounds throughout the month of December, featuring holiday attractions and special events for the entire family to enjoy.

Lights, decorations and holiday cheer for everyone! The inside and outside of both Honolulu Hale and Kapolei Hale decorated for the holiday season. Stop by and be a part of an annual tradition at the City and County of Honolulu. Great family fun that includes, the all-new Enchanted Forest home for Santa in the Honolulu Hale Couryard along with a display of Christmas trees decorated by City employees and a public wreath Contest exhibit in the Lane Gallery.

Don't forget to say Aloha to Shaka Santa, Tutu Mele, the Keiki Choir and all the other joyous displays Fronting Honolulu Hale and on the Civic Center Grounds.

Presented by the City and County of Honolulu, in partnership with the Friends of Honolulu City Lights, the Honolulu City Lights celebration has been a holiday tradition for island families since 1985.

Residents and visitors can delight in the merry displays that adorn the city grounds and brighten the downtown district, including Shaka Santa, Tūtū Mele, and the 55-foot tall holiday tree which serves as the centerpiece of Honolulu City Lights. Within Honolulu Hale, guests can also view the beautifully-decorated Christmas tree exhibits, all created by city employees, and the festive wreath displays, featuring entries by talented local artisans from the city's annual holiday wreath contest.

Friday, December 9

7 to 9 p.m. - DTL Free Photo with Santa Night, Honolulu Hale Courtyard.

Sunday, December 11

6 to 8 p.m. - Toys for Tots collection drive featuring Stormtroopers from the 501st Legion-Pacific Outpost, near front steps of Honolulu Hale.

Friday, December 16

7 to 9 p.m. - Kraft Heinz Free Photo with Santa Night, Honolulu Hale Courtyard.

Saturday, December 17

7 to 9 p.m. - 7-Eleven Hawai‘i Free Family Movie Night featuring "Finding Dory," on the Civic Center grounds.

Sunday, December 18

5:30 to 6:30 p.m. - Performance by Hula Hui O Kapunahala O Nuʻuanu YMCA, front of Honolulu Hale.

Friday, December 23

6:30 to 8:30 p.m. - Hawaiian Values Snack Company's Free Milk and Cookies Night, near front steps of Honolulu Hale.

7 to 9 p.m. - Kraft Heinz Free Photo with Santa Night, Honolulu Hale Courtyard.

The Friends of Honolulu City Lights will be selling the event's 2016 holiday T-shirt and ornaments every Wednesday to Sunday, 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., through Friday, December 23. This year's Christmas ornaments honor the 75th Pearl Harbor Commemoration. Sales of these collectible items go toward ensuring that Honolulu City Lights remains free to the public.

Keiki can visit with Santa at the Gingerbread House in the Honolulu Hale Courtyard nightly from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., through Saturday, December 24. Food, beverages, keiki rides, and other novelty items will be available for purchase nightly from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., through Friday, December 30.

For those who missed the opening night festivities, including the tree lighting ceremony, Public Workers' Electric Light Parade, and holiday concert, or wish to see them again, ‘Ōlelo Channel 49 will rebroadcast highlights on the following dates and times:

8 to 11 a.m.

Monday, December 26

1 to 4 p.m.

Wednesday, December 28

10 p.m. to 1 a.m.

KITV4 will air a one-hour parade special on Friday, December 23, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., produced by Hawaiian Electric Company and the Friends of Honolulu City Lights. The rebroadcast will be shown on MeTV on Saturday, December 24, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Honolulu City Lights will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., and will run through January 1, 2017, including the Christmas and New Year's holidays.

Key event sponsors include First Hawaiian Bank, Hawaiian Electric Company, Macy's, DTL, Aloha Pacific Federal Credit Union, and Cutter Ford.
