Nurture a Reading Super Hero! Starting May 31st, sign up your child for the Summer Reading Program at your local public library: read at least one book a week and receive a free weekly incentive, while supplies last. Teen and Adult programs are also available for the whole family to enjoy reading together.

The seven-week program runs May 31 to July 18, 2015 Program dates may vary by library; please contact your local library for dates and other guidelines.

2014 WAIKIKI PUBLIC LIBRARY SUMMER PROGRAM
Join the HSPLS Summer Reading Programs @ your Library

Readers of all ages are invited to participate in the 2014 Hawaii State Public Library System (HSPLS) Summer Reading Programs which will be conducted from Sunday, June 1 through Saturday, July 12. Registration for the free six-week programs at all 50 public libraries statewide begins on Tuesday, May 27. Some libraries may extend their programs beyond the July 12 date; contact your local library for dates and other guidelines.

Teens who register for this year's six-week HSPLS Teen Summer Reading Program can earn an Ear Bud Organizer!

The Ear Bud Organizer features three connection points that grip and hold, a loop and chain to connect easily, and will keep cords tangle-free. Keep your ear buds and valid HSPLS library card handy to access free Wi-fi and other online services from your local public library, download Audio-books, OverDrive, and OneClickdigital, learn to speak Hawaiian and other languages online, and more.

Funding for the Ear Bud Organizers is provided by the Friends of the Library of Hawaii and the 2014 HSPLS Summer Reading Sponsors.

JUNE1 TO JULY 12

(Program is not available at Kailua, Liliha & McCully-Moiliili)

The Adult Summer Reading Programencouragesyou to "light a spark" and increaseyour desire to read and learn more about the world around you. Adult participants who visit their local library and read at least one book per week are eligible to receive a free reading incentive, while supplies last.

Participating adults may alsoenter to win one of fiveE-Readers, courtesy of the Friends of the Library of Hawaii.Complete details and entry forms will be available at participatingpublic libraries.

Some public libraries will also offer free performances and informational programs that encourages a love of reading and life-long learning.
